The Surprising Effect of Collagen Tablets

Is it really true that collagen tablets can reduce wrinkles and build up the collagen supply in the body?  It is too good to contemplate and there are many dietary supplements on the market that will obviate the need to have injections in your face to plump up tissue.


Well, research has shown that there is something in taking these preparations and that they do indeed have some effects.

A study has shown that in a group that was given these tablets once a day showed improvements after 8 weeks.  Facial wrinkles around the eyes had improved by 20% and, more importantly collagen production by the body was up a significant amount.

It seems that by taking these collagen tablets the body had the capacity to be rejuvenated. Collagen when you are young keeps the skin smooth, but it also keeps the joints flexible.  In introducing collagen in pill form it does pretty much the same. It keeps your body more mobile at a greater age.


If you lose collagen beneath the skin of the face, you will get wrinkles.  If the collagen around your bones diminishes, you are at risk of osteoporosis.

Scientist are sceptic about such claims as they say that stomach acids will destroy any benefit before it reaches the places where it’s needed.  However, you cannot deny the impressive results that have been shown, although it doesn’t seem to be backed up by scientists.

If you want to give this dietary supplement a go, you need to ensure that you minimise environmental factors.  We cannot do much about our polluted environment, but you are able to keep yourself out of the sun.  It has long been know that excessive sunbathing depletes the collagen layer in your skin.

Unfortunately to be tanned in the summer months holds a big attraction, especially amongst young people. After the age of 30, collagen production declines. It is really unwise to expose yourself for hours on end to harmful sunrays.

A good diet will also help.
